There have many instances when bungalow house designs were featured in our websites and we are again featuring it today. But, we have not fully explained how did bungalow get its name.

So, how did bungalow got its name? The Wikipedia states that the word  bungalow is derived from the Hindi word “bangala” meaning “belonging to Bengal which is a type of building, originally developed in the Bengal region of the  of subcontinent.

However, the meaning of the word bungalow varies internationally common features of many bungalows include verandas and being low rise or having single floor plans.   In Australia, the California bungalow associated with the United States was popular after the First World War.  In North America and the United Kingdom, a bungalow today is a house, normally detached, that may contain a small loft.  It is either single-story or has a second storey built into a sloping roof, usually with dormer windows.

So, if you have been aware of the house designs lately, you have noticed that bungalows are so popular wherever you go.  And here, we are featuring another bungalow design.

The most common characteristics of any bungalow that you may notice include having a one storey or one-and-a-half- storey (the upper story only covered half the surface area of the lower story) cottage-like design, low-sloping roofs with eaves, primarily horizontal shape, large porches or verandas, direct entry into the living room, open floor plans where you see that the living room is also connected to the dining room and kitchen, and that all the parts of the house are of course, located in the ground floor. Also, the living room is often located in the entry and the center of the house.

The large windows are also one main attraction that complement the structure of a bungalow.  In this design, the windows are enhanced with the molders that are built in with the windows.  Painting it with a distinct color as against the color of the wall makes it appear more sophisticated.

This bungalow has three bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen, dining and living areas in an open floor, a balcony, and a washing area.

There is no parking space that was built but you can just make a detached parking area in the available space around it.
